Salasar Wins Rs 2.32bn UPPTCL Transmission Contract

Salasar Techno Engineering Ltd has secured a turnkey contract worth Rs 2.32 billion from Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Ltd to develop a 400 kV transmission line, backed by international funding from Germany’s state-owned bank KfW. The project supports infrastructure expansion and grid strengthening in the state.

Awarded in November 2025, the project involves engineering, detailed design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of a 400 kV DC Twin Moose transmission line along the Banda–Chitrakoot corridor, spanning around 130 km. Once completed, the line is expected to enhance grid stability, reduce transmission losses and support Uttar Pradesh’s rising power demand driven by industrial growth and rapid urbanisation.

Commenting on the order, Shashank Agarwal, Managing Director of Salasar Techno Engineering Ltd, said the UPPTCL project underlines the company’s capability to execute large-scale, high-voltage transmission projects of national importance. He added that Salasar’s integrated EPC expertise, strong execution framework and focus on quality, safety and timely delivery enable it to meet the evolving needs of India’s transmission and distribution ecosystem.

The project further strengthens Salasar Techno Engineering’s position as a key partner in building resilient and future-ready power transmission infrastructure, contributing to India’s energy security and long-term economic growth.
