SECI Awards Over 11 GW Renewable Capacity

The Solar Energy Corporation of India concluded multiple auctions under its Inter-State Transmission System schemes, awarding over 11 gigawatt (GW) of capacity across solar, hybrid, wind and Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy projects. The authority applied a trading margin of Rs0.07 per kWh over discovered tariffs across all schemes. The competitive auctions reflected sustained investor confidence in India's clean energy market.\n\nIn ISTS Tranche-XXI for solar plus battery energy storage system, SECI allocated 1,200 megawatt (MW) at tariffs ranging from Rs3.12 to Rs3.13 per unit. Key developers securing capacity included NLC India Renewables, Engie Energy India, RPIL Power Three and Oriana Power. These projects are expected to supply solar energy at the committed capacity utilisation factor and to provide additional electricity during peak hours.\n\nISTS Tranche-XX awarded 2,000 MW at tariffs between Rs2.86 and Rs2.87 per unit, with major allocations to Welspun Renewable Energy, Shivalaya Construction, Purvah Green Power and SAEL Industries. The manufacturing-linked solar category saw allocation of 2,366 MW at tariffs as low as Rs2.42 per unit, with Azure Power India and Adani Green Energy Four Limited among the principal winners, supporting domestic solar equipment production while adding generation capacity.\n\nThe hybrid segment under Tranche-VIII and IX allocated 1,800 MW at tariffs from Rs3.25 to Rs3.46 per unit, with JSW Neo Energy, ACME Solar Holdings, Juniper Green Energy, AMPIN Energy Utility and Avaada Energy among successful bidders. The ISTS wind Tranche-XIX awarded 1,200 MW at tariffs near Rs3.67 to Rs3.69 per unit with companies such as KP Energy, Waaree Forever Energies and Vena Energy Aura securing projects.\n\nIn the FDRE category, higher tariffs from Rs6.27 to Rs8.10 per unit reflected commitments to assured peak supply, and winners including Serentica Renewables, ACME Solar Holdings and Adyant Enersol will guarantee electricity during non-solar hours. The package of awards is expected to strengthen grid stability and accelerate integration of storage-backed renewable generation into the national system.
