Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has issued an official notification requiring a site visit for bidders interested in developing a 100 kilowatt (kW) rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) power project at the National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE) campus in Pallikaranai, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The requirement forms part of SECI's Request for Proposals (RfP) to select a project developer under the CAPEX mode for the RTSPV-C-T-II project, with the tender listed on the ISN-ETS portal under search code SECI-2026-TN000026. The notification was presented as a procedural step to improve bid preparedness and technical compliance.

SECI has stipulated that all potential bidders must visit and inspect the project site before submitting their technical proposals. The site inspection is intended to help bidders understand existing site conditions, inspect available rooftop solar infrastructure, assess accessibility constraints and collect technical information necessary to prepare compliant bids. Bidders are expected to familiarise themselves with rooftop structural provisions and any related electrical interconnection considerations.

Bidders will be responsible for arranging the site visit and for bearing all associated costs and risks, and they must obtain a Site Visit Certificate in the prescribed Format 7.6 after completing the inspection. A duly signed and stamped copy of the certificate must be submitted with the technical bid, and failure to provide the required certificate could affect eligibility under the tender process. SECI has emphasised adherence to tender conditions to ensure fair evaluation.

Reddy, Senior Manager, to assist with tender-related matters. The mandatory inspection is intended to ensure that bidders have adequate knowledge of the project site before finalising technical proposals and to reduce uncertainties that could affect project execution.
