Sembcorp Completes Acquisition Of 300 MW Solar Project

Sembcorp Industries has completed the acquisition of ReNew Sun Bright Private Limited, further strengthening its renewable energy footprint in India. The transaction was executed through Sembcorp Green Infra Private Limited, the company’s wholly owned subsidiary.

ReNew Sun Bright owns and operates a 300 megawatt solar power project located in Fatehgarh, Rajasthan, one of India’s key solar development hubs. The asset adds to the country’s growing portfolio of large, grid-connected renewable energy projects.

Following the acquisition, Sembcorp’s renewable energy capacity in India, including operating assets and projects under development, has crossed 7.6 gigawatts. The company has been scaling up its Indian operations through a combination of greenfield development and strategic acquisitions.

Globally, Sembcorp’s renewable portfolio now stands at around 20.2 gigawatts, including projects under construction. Renewables continue to form a central pillar of the company’s long-term growth strategy amid rising demand for sustainable energy solutions.

The addition of the Fatehgarh solar project reinforces Sembcorp’s commitment to expanding its clean energy platform in India and strengthens its role in supporting the country’s transition towards low-carbon power generation.
