SJVN has started supplying power from the 70 megawatt (MW) Dhubri solar project in Assam, marking the first tranche of energy flow from the facility to the regional grid. The company reported that the project has been connected to the state transmission network and has begun regular generation. The commencement follows completion of civil, electrical and commissioning works. Commercial evacuation of power began after necessary statutory clearances were finalised.

The Dhubri installation is situated in Dhubri district and forms part of efforts to augment renewable capacity in the north east. The additional generation is expected to strengthen local supply reliability and to support grid stability during peak daylight hours. Officials indicated that the project will complement existing generation assets in the region. The location benefits from high insolation levels and available land parcels for utility scale deployment.

The plant's 70 MW capacity will be managed by SJVN's operations teams and integrated with regional dispatch schedules. The solar farm comprises photovoltaic arrays and associated balance of plant systems designed for sustained performance. Commissioning included grid synchronisation and testing to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Operations will include routine maintenance regimes and remote monitoring to optimise generation.

SJVN's entry into commercial supply from Dhubri aligns with wider policy emphasis on clean energy expansion and regional infrastructure development. The company emphasised that the project will contribute to its portfolio of renewable assets and to broader efforts to reduce carbon intensity of supply. Future phases of development in the region were described as under consideration by project planners. Stakeholders noted that the project will also support local economic activity during operation and through ancillary services.
