SJVN Floats Tender For 300 MW Of New Solar Projects In Punjab

SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN Limited, has issued a major tender to develop 300 MW of grid-connected solar power projects across Punjab, reinforcing India’s renewable-energy expansion. The capacity is split into 200 MW under the PSPCL ET-4 scheme and 100 MW under the PSPCL ET-2 scheme, with projects to be set up at multiple locations over the next two years.

The tender requires bidders to manage the full lifecycle of the projects, including arranging land and undertaking complete Engineering, Procurement and Construction works. Responsibilities cover design, engineering, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the solar PV plants, followed by three years of operations and maintenance. The projects must be completed within twenty-four months of the Letter of Award.

Bidding will follow a Single Stage Two Envelope system, featuring Techno-Commercial and Price Bids, culminating in an online reverse auction. Participants must have experience developing at least 50 MWp of cumulative grid-connected solar projects, including one operating plant of at least 10 MWp commissioned six months before the tender date.

The Notice Inviting Tender was issued on 25 November 2025. A pre-bid meeting will be held on 6 December via video conference. Bid document sales close on 18 December at noon, while the deadline for submission is 19 December at 2:00 pm, with Techno-Commercial bids opened the same day. Dates for Price Bid opening and the reverse auction will be announced later.

Bidders must pay a non-refundable document fee of Rs 5,900 and submit an Earnest Money Deposit of Rs 1.2 billion through bank guarantee or online payment. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bank Guarantee of three per cent of the contract value within twenty-eight days of receiving the award. SGEL expects the projects to significantly strengthen Punjab’s solar capacity and further expand its national renewable portfolio.
