Suzlon Secures 100 MW Wind Project from GAIL
Suzlon will install 47 state-of-the-art S120 wind turbine generators (WTGs), each rated at a 2.1 megawatt (MW) capacity, and will supply turbines, oversee equipment installation, and execute erection and commissioning, followed by comprehensive operations and maintenance services post-commissioning. The end-to-end scope of work is presented as evidence of the company's integrated project delivery capabilities. Project execution will draw on the company's experience in complex installations.
The Suzlon Group reported that it has over 2.2 gigawatt (GW) of installed capacity and holds a 38 per cent market share in Maharashtra, and that the Group has deployed 21.5 gigawatt (GW) of wind energy capacity across 17 countries. Headquartered at Suzlon One Earth in Pune, the Group comprises Suzlon Energy Ltd and its subsidiaries. The company indicated that it has maintained a commercial relationship with GAIL for more than 15 years.
The contract is described as aligning with the firm's strategic focus on the public sector segment as it seeks to support decarbonisation in energy?intensive industries and expand its domestic renewable footprint. The project is expected to add to the Group's order pipeline in financial year 2026 and to contribute to Maharashtra's development as a regional renewable energy hub. The award is likely to reinforce investor confidence in the renewable sector and support further private and public investment in clean energy projects.
