Tata Power has commissioned two 400 kilovolt (kV) transmission lines, Tanda–Gonda and Gonda–Basti, forming a double circuit of 154 circuit kilometres under the South East UP Power Transmission Company Limited (SEUPPTCL) project. The company has now completed all Extra High Voltage transmission lines and substations under SEUPPTCL and its network comprises three 765 kV lines totalling 951 circuit kilometres, 14 400 kV lines totalling 566 circuit kilometres and three 765/400 kV substations with 3,460 MVA transformation capacity.

The commissioning of four assets—the 765 kV Mainpuri–Bara (380 circuit kilometres), the 765 kV Mainpuri–Unnao (194 circuit kilometres), and the 400 kV Tanda–Gonda and Gonda–Basti double circuit lines—will enable the safe evacuation of over 4,000 megawatts (MW) of thermal power generated within Uttar Pradesh. The project will support the state’s growing electricity demand while enhancing grid stability.

SEUPPTCL is part of Resurgent Power Ventures Pte. Limited, a joint venture led by The Tata Power Company Limited with ICICI Bank and global investors, and was acquired through the resolution of stressed assets. Execution deployed over 45,000 metric tonnes (t) of tower steel, more than 8,600 kilometres of conductors and 139 critical crossings, and construction in forest areas complied with environmental and statutory norms.

With the commissioning of these 17 765 kV and 400 kV corridors spanning 1,517 circuit kilometres, Tata Power’s operational transmission network has expanded to 5,466 circuit kilometres with a further 1,863 circuit kilometres under construction. The Tata Power Company Limited owns a generation portfolio of 16.3 gigawatts (GW) with 7.5 GW of clean energy constituting 46 per cent of its capacity and serves 13 million (mn) customers.
