Engineers India Limited (EIL) has declared Technip Energies India the lowest bidder (L1) for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract covering the polypropylene (PP) upstream of the powder section at the propane dehydrogenation–polypropylene (PDH-PP) plant in Dahej, Gujarat.

The strategically important project will include the development of ethane and propane handling facilities, which are critical for improving plant efficiency and feedstock flexibility.

The EPC contract awarded by Engineers India highlights Technip Energies’ strong credentials in managing complex petrochemical and LNG infrastructure projects. Securing the L1 position reaffirms the company’s leadership in delivering technologically advanced, large-scale industrial solutions.

According to projectstoday.com, once operational, the Dahej project will enhance the performance and output of the PDH-PP facility, a key asset in India’s petrochemical value chain. The plant plays a crucial role in the production of polypropylene, a versatile polymer widely used across the automotive, packaging, and consumer goods sectors.

The development is expected to strengthen India’s domestic polymer manufacturing capacity, reduce import dependence, and support the government’s broader goal of promoting industrial self-reliance and downstream petrochemical growth.
