The Telangana government is exploring collaborations with Germany to deploy advanced solar technologies aimed at strengthening the state’s power infrastructure and supporting the agricultural sector.
Energy Minister Guntakandla Jagadish Reddy said the initiative aligns with Telangana’s focus on expanding renewable energy generation and ensuring reliable electricity supply to farmers. The move comes as part of the state’s broader goal to integrate global expertise into local power solutions.
A German delegation, including representatives from leading solar technology firms, recently met with state officials to discuss pilot projects involving innovative photovoltaic systems and storage solutions. The proposed partnership would also enhance efficiency across the distribution network and reduce dependency on conventional sources.
Telangana has been among India’s leading states in solar energy adoption, with ongoing efforts to modernise its energy mix. The collaboration with German firms is expected to introduce cutting-edge solar modules and smart management systems to rural regions, ensuring stable supply during peak agricultural seasons.
The government stated that discussions are at an advanced stage, and formal agreements are likely to follow after technical assessments and feasibility studies.
