Torrent Power has floated a Request for Selection (RfS) to procure 200 MW of firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) integrated with an energy storage system (ESS), along with a greenshoe option for an additional 100 MW.
The projects can be set up anywhere in India, with power supplied to the Central Transmission Utility/interstate transmission system (ISTS) network at a location specified in the power purchase agreement (PPA). Eligible technologies include solar, wind, wind–solar hybrid, or other renewable systems paired with ESS, with the storage charged solely from renewable sources.
Key details:
- Bid deadline: August 30, 2025 | Opening: September 1, 2025
- EMD: Rs 2 million/MW | Performance guarantee: Rs 5 million/MW
- Monthly supply obligation: Minimum 75 per cent fulfilment in peak and non-peak hours
- PPA term: 25 years
Bidders must have operational or under-construction renewable capacity of at least 100 MW and meet financial thresholds, including a net worth of Rs 20 million/MW and turnover of Rs 7.5 million/MW for FY 2024–25. The scope covers project development, land acquisition, connectivity, and compliance with MNRE-approved technology lists.
Delays beyond six months from the scheduled commercial operation date may lead to capacity reduction or PPA termination.
This tender follows Torrent Green Energy’s recent win in the SECI Tranche XVIII auction for 600 MW ISTS-connected wind projects.
