Trentar Signs Rs. 300 bn MoU for 500 MW Green Data Centre
Under the MoU, the Maharashtra government will facilitate coordination for applicable permissions, registrations, approvals, clearances and incentives. The project has also received the state’s Letter of Intent, which outlines the support and incentives available under prevailing policies and regulations.
Trentar said the facility is being designed to source at least 51 per cent of its power from renewable sources. The project will be supported by in-house energy storage, while the company is evaluating treated-water reuse and water-efficient cooling systems to reduce resource consumption.
The final technology choices for energy storage, cooling and water management will be determined through detailed design and feasibility studies. This approach is intended to align the data centre’s infrastructure with the operational requirements of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing workloads.
The proposed investment marks Dorf Ketal Group’s expansion into large-scale digital infrastructure. Established in 1992, the group has developed a global specialty-chemicals business serving industrial applications and has experience in process engineering, utilities, thermal management, water treatment and energy efficiency.
Trentar said these capabilities would support the development of the proposed data centre project. The state government’s role under the MoU covers facilitation and coordination, while project implementation will proceed in accordance with applicable regulations, approvals and detailed feasibility outcomes.
