Tsuyo, Karnataka Ink LOI for EV Powertrain Facility
The proposed plant will produce a wide range of powertrain solutions, including electric motors across multiple topologies, e-drives, e-axles, automatic transmissions, integrated systems, and complete powertrain assemblies for heavy commercial EVs. It will also feature a large track for field testing of buses, trucks, mining vehicles and other industrial EVs. Production capacity will span 0.5 kW to 250 kW, expandable to 600 kW through partnerships with CETL and LvKON.
The initiative is expected to strengthen domestic manufacturing, reduce import reliance, and support India’s fast-growing commercial EV ecosystem. It will also generate significant employment while accelerating innovation in powertrain technologies tailored for Indian terrain and usage patterns.
