Uttar Pradesh created a national record by meeting a peak power demand of 32,348 MW on 21 June. The achievement exceeded Maharashtra's earlier figure of 32,317 MW recorded on 13 May. The state corporation presented the milestone as evidence of enhanced capacity to meet rising electricity requirements.

The demand was met at 10.48 pm and was announced by the state energy minister on the social media platform X. The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited said the event established a new national benchmark in the power sector. The corporation framed the outcome as the result of coordinated generation, transmission and distribution operations.

UPPCL characterised the outcome as reflecting the strength and reliability of the state's electricity system and as an indicator of growing industrial, economic and social development. It attributed the result to modern power infrastructure, effective management and the dedication of thousands of officers and employees involved in power generation, transmission and distribution. The corporation highlighted operational readiness and grid stability as key contributors.

The state surpassing the previous record is presented as underlining improvements in system planning and emergency response capabilities. Officials indicated that meeting peak demand without disruption demonstrates the ability to balance load and supply during periods of intensive use. The development was positioned as a validation of recent investments and administrative measures in the sector.

UPPCL said the milestone will inform ongoing efforts to reinforce capacity and maintain reliability as demand patterns evolve. The corporation committed to continuing upgrades and operational refinement to sustain performance. It added that monitoring and planning will guide future additions.
