Uttarakhand Approves Rs 930 mn For Tourism Roads Helipads And Solar
The largest single allocation of Rs 562.9 mn has been earmarked for development of tourism infrastructure on PWD and Animal Husbandry Department land near Goljyu Temple in Almora district. The government also sanctioned Rs 33.2 mn for reconstruction and improvement of the Gyansu?Gwad?Passi?Budogi motor road in Tehri Garhwal and Rs 12.3 mn for widening, paving and interlocking work on roads in the Bhaniyawala displaced area in Dehradun district. These measures are expected to improve access for visitors and residents.
To bolster police accommodation, the state approved first instalments of Rs 23.1 mn for 12 residential units at Old Shyampur police station, Rs 22.8 mn for 12 units at Jwalapur Kotwali campus and Rs 12.6 mn for six residential units at Bahadrabad police station. Disaster response and air connectivity allocations include Rs 11.8 mn for an ADRF post at Jankichatti in Uttarkashi, Rs 13.9 mn for a helipad at Fitadi village and smaller grants of Rs 4.645 mn and Rs 7.568 mn for helipad beautification and construction in Joshiyada and Tehri Garhwal respectively.
The government approved Rs 19.8 mn as the first instalment against a sanctioned cost of Rs 40.1 mn for reconstruction of three Government Inter College buildings. In the energy sector, Rs 30 mn was cleared for UJVNL to begin preliminary geothermal resource exploration and prepare a detailed project report, with a Rs 12.0 mn first instalment also sanctioned. The state will contribute Rs 200 mn towards the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana to support rooftop solar installations and a motor road in Chamoli has been renamed to honour freedom fighter Shaheed Khimji, the office added.
