Vayona Energy Secures First India Wind Order
Under the agreement, Vayona Energy will supply 18 SG 3.6-145 wind turbines aggregating to 64.8 MW. Major components for the turbines will be manufactured and assembled at Vayona Energy's Mamandur facility near Chennai. Supply for the project is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of calendar year 2026.
The company said the project aligns with its strategy to scale onshore wind solutions across India and Sri Lanka by leveraging its manufacturing base and technology portfolio. Vayona Energy noted a customer order book exceeding one gigawatt (GW) and an operations and maintenance portfolio of approximately seven GW, and it said this contract further reinforces market confidence in its products and capabilities. Since the launch of its 3X platform, the firm reported order intake crossing 3.6 GW with installations exceeding two GW as of December 2025. The company has a portfolio exceeding 12 GW of operational and development assets.
Oyster Renewable's managing director described the project as the firm's first and largest venture into Andhra Pradesh and said Vayona Energy was selected for its technical excellence and the suitability of its 3.6 MW machines for local wind conditions. He added that the partnership supports a Make in India approach and will strengthen the domestic renewable energy ecosystem. The agreement is expected to deliver high-performance renewable power to commercial and industrial customers while expanding Oyster Renewable's presence in the region.
