WABAG Wins Rs 465 Million Order For RenewSys Solar Facility

VA Tech WABAG has secured an order worth Rs 465 million from RenewSys India to provide end-to-end water management solutions for its upcoming 2 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, Telangana.

The scope of work covers the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation and commissioning of an Ultrapure Water (UPW) system, an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), and a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system. The project is to be executed within 11 months, the company said in a statement.

Sivakumar, General Manager – Sales and Marketing, India Cluster, VA Tech WABAG, said the order marks the company’s entry into delivering comprehensive water solutions for solar cell facilities, a high-growth sector. “The project aligns with our strategy to diversify into water management for solar, green hydrogen and semiconductors. WABAG’s technological expertise, proven track record and competitive pricing enabled us to offer the lowest life-cycle cost,” he noted.

He added that the order is strategically significant as it strengthens WABAG’s presence in the solar manufacturing sector and reinforces its capabilities across UPW, ETP and ZLD systems. “It also positions WABAG to capitalise on future opportunities in solar, green hydrogen, semiconductors and other high-growth industrial applications,” he said.
