Wardwizard Innovations & Mobility Limited, manufacturer of Joy e-bike and Joy e-rik, has announced a strategic partnership with Battery Smart, India’s largest and fastest-growing battery-swapping network. The collaboration will establish advanced battery-swapping infrastructure across all Joy e-bike dealerships, introducing a flexible “battery-as-a-service” model.

Through this model, customers can buy Joy e-bikes without the battery, lowering upfront costs by 20 to 30 per cent of the total vehicle price. Instead, swappable batteries can be rented from Battery Smart on a pay-as-you-use basis, making electric vehicle ownership more affordable and accessible. The initiative also allows dealers and distributors to install swapping stations, offering them an additional revenue stream while enabling Battery Smart to widen its network.

Initially, the integration of swappable battery technology will feature on Joy e-bike models such as Globe and Gen Next, with more models under development. These vehicles will allow seamless battery swaps at Battery Smart’s stations, which already operate across major cities including Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru. A phased nationwide rollout will begin in January 2026.

For Battery Smart, this collaboration marks its first consumer-facing pilot project, a milestone in advancing sustainable, accessible, and future-ready mobility solutions. Together, the companies aim to accelerate India’s transition to clean electric mobility across both consumer and B2B segments.
