Epiroc AB, a global productivity and sustainability partner for the mining and infrastructure industries, has broken ground on a new production and R&D facility in Nashik, Maharashtra. Spread across 175,000 sq m, the facility will develop and manufacture underground and surface equipment for mining and construction. It will house production and prototyping units, an R&D lab, offices, and an outdoor equipment test track. Operations are scheduled to begin in Q3 2026, with phased expansions thereafter.

“This facility is a key step in expanding our presence in the growing Indian market and supporting our customers globally,” said Helena Hedblom, President and CEO, Epiroc. 

The new Nashik facility will generate about 200 direct jobs, adding to Epiroc’s existing workforce of 280 in the city. The company employs 1,750 people across India, including a large R&D base. Recently, Epiroc inaugurated an expanded rock drilling tools facility in Hyderabad and opened a technology and innovation centre in the same city.
