SWITCH Mobility Showcases Electric Municipal Solutions

SWITCH Mobility is advancing electric mobility in municipal operations with solutions designed to improve efficiency, reduce emissions and support urban sustainability goals. The company showcased its electric sanitation vehicles at Municipalika 2026 in New Delhi, highlighting their role in enabling cleaner and quieter city operations.

Electric vehicles are increasingly being adopted in municipal services such as waste collection and street cleaning, offering benefits including lower fuel dependency, reduced maintenance and improved operational efficiency.

The SWITCH IeV3 Garbage Tipper is a fully electric waste collection vehicle with configurations of 2.5, 3 and 3.5 cubic metres, offering payload capacity of up to 900 kg with the tipper and up to 1,250 kg (FSD). It is powered by a 25.6 kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering a range of up to 140 km and fast charging capability of up to 80 per cent in around 55 minutes. The vehicle features a closed body design with waste segregation, compact dimensions for urban mobility and integrated telematics for fleet monitoring.

The SWITCH IeV4 Electric Road Sweeper is designed for high-demand cleaning operations, combining sweeping and dust control to improve air quality. It features a vacuum suction system, a 2 cubic metre waste tank and 500-litre water storage, enabling efficient debris collection and dust suppression. Its electric drivetrain ensures zero-emission operations and reduced noise, making it suitable for dense urban environments.

These solutions reflect a broader shift towards electric municipal transport, supporting cities in achieving cleaner operations, improved service delivery and long-term sustainability objectives.
