Adityanath Launches Rs. 120 bn Housing Projects in Lucknow

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched two major housing projects in Lucknow on Thursday, marking the start of large-scale development near the Agra Expressway and along Sitapur Road. The schemes are planned to accommodate around 800,000 people and have a combined estimated cost of Rs. 120 bn.

The two schemes, Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar, will cover a combined 10,680 acres. Varun Vihar is being developed in Kakori near the Agra Expressway, while Naimish Nagar is planned in the Sitapur Road-IIM Road area. Land for Naimish Nagar has been acquired across 18 villages in BKT tehsil, and registrations for both schemes have opened.

Adityanath also laid the foundation stones for five multi-storey residential apartment projects with a total estimated cost of Rs. 21.66 bn. These include Lake View Apartments in Gomti Nagar, where three-bedroom flats will be priced at Rs. 11.3 mn. More affordable homes are planned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the Lucknow Development Authority’s Anant Nagar, Sharda Nagar and Basant Kunj projects.

Plot prices in Naimish Nagar have been set at Rs. 3,800 per sq ft, while those in Varun Vihar will be priced at Rs. 2,800 per sq ft. The schemes will offer plots measuring 72, 112.5, 162, 200, 288 and 450 square metres.

The projects form part of the state government’s plans for the State Capital Region (SCR). Varun Vihar will cover more than 6,500 acres and Naimish Nagar around 4,100 acres. The government said the developments would support Lucknow’s expansion and strengthen infrastructure across the SCR.
