In a bid to streamline the process, reduce costs, and enhance transparency, the district administration has issued directives to conduct all three stages of structural audits for high-rise residential societies concurrently. Currently, structural integrity and stability tests are being conducted for 38 societies within the city, a process that has been ongoing in two phases since April of the previous year. However, concrete progress has yet to be achieved.

The staggered nature of the ongoing structural audits has posed challenges in terms of coordination and supervision for both government departments and the agencies responsible for conducting the audits. Additionally, residents of these societies have expressed concerns regarding the lack of transparency and cost-effectiveness in the process. There have been complaints that developers and Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) are not sharing mandatory documents such as building drawings and plans, nor are they willing to bear the costs associated with the audit.

The district administration's decision to conduct all three stages of structural audits simultaneously aims to address these issues, streamline the process, and ensure that it aligns with best practices for transparency and efficiency.
