DMart Acquires Multiple Floors In Thane Commercial Building

Avenue Supermarts Limited, the operator of DMart, has acquired more than 70,000 sq ft of commercial space in the Kolshet area of Thane, near Mumbai, for Rs992.7 mn, according to property registration documents accessed by CRE Matrix. The documents show the total area measures 6,530.86 sq m, equivalent to approximately 70,298.18 sq ft, and the transaction was registered on 30 June 2026. The acquisition covers multiple contiguous floors in a single building and includes an upper basement allocated for parking.

The purchase encompasses the ground, first, second and third floors and includes 46 car parking spaces and 47 parking spaces for two-wheelers, the records indicate. The property was acquired from Regency Shelters LLP and the buyer paid stamp duty of Rs69.4 mn as part of the registration process. The documents provide the primary basis for the disclosure; an email query was sent to Avenue Supermarts and no response had been received at the time of reporting.

The Thane deal follows a pattern of recent property acquisitions by the company. In June 2026, Avenue Supermarts purchased multiple floors in a Bengaluru commercial building for Rs1.062 bn, with a reported built-up area of approximately 170,000 sq ft and an undivided land share of 4,046.85 sq m, or nearly 43,560 sq ft. Earlier transactions cited in registration records include a May 2026 lease of a luxury apartment in Worli for Rs2.75 mn per month and a December 2025 long?term warehousing lease that exceeded Rs1 bn in total rent.

Avenue Supermarts is a national supermarket chain offering food and non-food general merchandise and apparel, and it had 387 stores as of 31 December 2024. The company continues to expand its footprint through owned and leased assets as it supports retail and logistics operations across several states.
