Green Orchid Plans 500-Acre Township Near Guwahati Airport

Green Orchid Group is developing a 500-acre integrated township near Guwahati Airport, marking a major expansion of its real estate portfolio in Assam.

Located at Barkuchi along NH-37, Green Orchid Township is planned as a multi-phase development combining residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, education, recreation and lifestyle infrastructure.

The project has an estimated development potential of around 22 mn sq ft of built-up area and an indicative Gross Development Value of approximately Rs 180 bn at current rates, subject to market conditions and the eventual project mix.

The township is located around 6 km from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport and forms part of the developing airport growth corridor in western Guwahati. It also offers connectivity towards Dharapur, Airport Road, Palashbari and Sualkuchi, while remaining close to Northeast IT Park, IIIT Guwahati, Cotton University State Campus and Mirza Railway Station.

The master plan includes residential neighbourhoods, green and open spaces and a 50-ft-wide natural river stream. Proposed amenities include a clubhouse, gymnasium, swimming pool, wellness and sports facilities, landscaped gardens, hospitality facilities, golf course, race course, restaurants, schools, healthcare facilities, retail spaces, offices, technology spaces, malls and entertainment facilities.

Sustainability forms a key part of the development plan, with proposed rainwater harvesting, water recycling, waste management, energy-efficient infrastructure, renewable energy integration and preservation of natural landscapes and water features.

Green Orchid Group has expanded from land development and plotted projects into villa developments and integrated township planning. Its earlier plotted developments have attracted more than 1,000 customers.

“Our objective is to create more than just houses. We want to create communities where modern living, connectivity, nature and social infrastructure come together in a sustainable environment,” said Dr Tapan Mali, Founder and Managing Director, Green Orchid Group.
