The event drew builders, developers, design firms and engineering consultancies, with discussions centred on offshore modular delivery, regulatory pathways and the role of AI across the construction lifecycle.

Haitao Huang, Chairman of TAUCO Australia, outlined the regulatory environment for modular construction, including National Construction Code requirements, Australian Standards, documentation and traceability, certification and approval workflows. He noted that overseas-manufactured modules must be supported by verifiable and archivable technical documents to secure compliance and occupancy permits.

Martin Morrow-Woods, Director of Cre8ive Building Concepts, detailed practical steps required for successful deployment in Australia, covering crane-lift planning, mechanical-electrical alignment, third-party reviews, staged inspections and final compliance documentation. His insights offered a clear roadmap for execution across residential and medium-density projects.

Participants engaged actively with the Inspur team during a networking session, with several developers and builders expressing interest in feasibility studies and potential pilot projects. Discussions also explored customised modular solutions for student accommodation and residential schemes.

Inspur Intelligent Building aims to expand China-Australia collaboration in modular technologies, accelerate demonstration projects and integrate AI-enabled construction methods to support faster delivery cycles.
