The Jaipur Development Authority has unveiled five land pooling schemes to guide planned urban expansion in and around Jaipur. Two schemes are located along Mahal Road while three are proposed on Agra Road, Kalwar Road and near Tonk Road in the Sanganer area, according to officials. The schemes are intended to accommodate industrial, residential and mixed-use development while enabling coordinated infrastructure provision.

In the Mahal Road industrial zone the authority has identified a 127.08 hectare site in Ramchandrapura encompassing Rampura and Kanwarpura villages and has earmarked the majority of the land for industrial purposes and recreational spaces. More than 58 per cent of the identified area has been designated for industrial use and associated leisure and circulation space and plans envisage road networks up to 200 feet wide. Adjacent to that area a separate Mahal Road scheme covering 266.42 hectares across Vidhani, Rampura, Kanwarpura, Jaichandpura and Vimalpura villages has been selected primarily for residential development.

On Agra Road a site near Khori Ropada village has been proposed for inclusion in a heritage city plan that will combine residential and industrial components in a manner intended to respect local character while supporting growth. A mixed-use scheme on Kalwar Road spans more than 380 hectares and is planned to integrate housing, commerce and supporting infrastructure. A further mixed-use proposal in the Muhana Mandi area near Tonk Road allocates some 62 per cent of land to residential use while preserving space for public and semi-public facilities.

The authority expects the land pooling approach to enable systematic allocation of plots, phased infrastructure delivery and better provision of public amenities, thereby limiting ad hoc development. Implementation will require detailed mapping, stakeholder consultations and statutory approvals administered by the local planning body. Officials indicated that subsequent steps will focus on finalising land shares, infrastructure standards and timelines to move projects towards execution.
