According to three persons with knowledge of the transaction, KLA Tencor, a California-based manufacturer of process control systems, has leased 3,20,000 square feet of office space in Chennai's new DLF Downtown Taramani.

Although they omitted financial information, they claimed that the transaction was one of the biggest commercial leasing deals the city had ever seen. Within the next three months, the company is anticipated to move to the new office, they stated.

The transaction advisor for the deal was the international property firm CBRE. The initial phase of DLF Downtown at Taramani in Chennai should be finished in the coming months, according to Sriram Khattar, managing director of DLF's rental division. He did not comment on the deal, though.

"It's more than 80% rented, and we're certain we can lease the remaining space before this phase of the project is finished.
