Residents of Kolhapur are advocating for an audit of recent road works following the emergence of numerous potholes and general disrepair in newly constructed road stretches. The Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) administrator, Kadambari Balkawade, has responded by deploying top civic officials to inspect around 65 recently built road stretches that are now riddled with potholes. The team, including additional commissioner Nitin Desai and deputy commissioners Ravikant Adsul and Shilpa Darekar, will assess the quality of the raw materials used and the specifications provided to the contractors. They are tasked with filing a detailed report that includes geo-tagging of the road stretches along with photos to document the current state and any discrepancies in construction quality .
