Maharashtra Clears TP Schemes to Boost Pune Infra Growth

The Maharashtra government has given final approval to four Town Planning (TP) schemes prepared by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), paving the way for faster infrastructure development and planned growth in surrounding villages, officials confirmed on Thursday.
The approved schemes include two for Wadachiwadi, one each for Autade–Handewadi and Holkarwadi, and another for Fursungi within Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) limits. As a result, PMRDA can now proceed with the development of a 6.8 km stretch of the proposed ring road, part of a broader project estimated at over Rs 6.9 billion.
Officials stated that PMRDA has begun acquiring land and holding consultations with local communities.
In addition, a public notice has been issued for 15 upcoming TP schemes in villages such as Wagholi, Avhalwadi, Manjari Khurd (three schemes), Wadki, Maan, Dhamane, Godumbre, Darumbre/Salumbre (two schemes), Sangwade, Nere, and Bavdhan Budruk.
Yogesh Mhase, Metropolitan Commissioner of PMRDA, said, “The approval will accelerate regional development. Planning for the new schemes will be finalised after discussions with village representatives and farmers.”
