NAREDCO Maharashtra Backs Rental Housing Push

Rental housing must be incentivised through tax reliefs and policy reforms to make ‘Housing for All’ achievable at scale, said Dr Niranjan Hiranandani, NAREDCO and Managing Director, Hiranandani Group, at NAREDCO Maharashtra’s recent Change of Guard Ceremony in Mumbai.
At the event, Kamlesh Thakur, Founder and Managing Director, Srishti Group, took over as President of NAREDCO Maharashtra from Prashant Sharma. The new leadership outlined an inclusive agenda centred on policy advocacy, transparency and sectoral growth.
NAREDCO Maharashtra also launched the ‘NAREDCO ONE’ digital app to bring all developer-members onto a single platform for stronger interaction, information exchange and coordinated progress.
Presenting his vision, Thakur said the organisation would continue working for the sector’s betterment, with a focus on ease of doing business, digitisation of approvals and stronger collaboration with government bodies. Jay Goenka was named Secretary and Manan Shah Treasurer for the new term.
During a panel discussion held alongside the event, Dr Hiranandani reiterated the need for rental housing to support long-term affordability and growth in real estate. Other panellists included Parag Shah, Chairman Emeritus, MICL, and Sanjay Dutt, Managing Director and CEO, Tata Realty, who discussed market realities and structural changes shaping the sector.
