Narendra Bhooshan Assumes Charge As Secretary Of Land Resources
Shri Bhooshan brings more than three decades of diverse administrative experience at both Central and State Government levels. Immediately prior to this assignment he served as Additional Chief Secretary, Energy and Additional Energy and Technical Education in the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Earlier state postings included Principal Secretary for Science and Technology, public works and infrastructure, industry, NRI affairs and information technology and electronics.
At the Central level he held a range of key positions including Deputy Director General, a post equivalent to Joint Secretary, at the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. He also served as Mission Director for the National Food Security Management programme (NFSM) and as Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation. His Central assignments further included a role as officer on special duty to the Minister and Joint Secretary at the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO).
At State level his administrative record included serving as Secretary of the Finance Department, Managing Director of the State Transport Corporation and Special Secretary in the Industries Department. He acquired substantial field experience as District Magistrate of Mathura, Firozabad and Udham Singh Nagar. These roles gave him exposure to financial management, transport operations, industrial policy and grassroots administration.
He holds a Master of Arts degree in International Development Policy from Duke University in the United States and is a graduate in Electronics. He also holds a postgraduate degree in Economics from Dr B R Ambedkar University, Agra and has undergone specialised training in public finance, international negotiations and climate change preparedness. He assumed charge with a mandate to oversee land resource management initiatives and to strengthen implementation of rural development programmes.
