Noida Acts Against Illegal Flats on Rs 840 Million Land

The Noida Authority has launched a crackdown on unauthorised construction in Salarpur village, where 39 developers have illegally built residential buildings on 24 plots of both notified and acquired land. Officials confirmed on Wednesday that a dedicated enforcement squad has been formed to halt further construction and prosecute offenders under stringent land mafia regulations.
A total of 60 buildings have come up illegally, offering 1 to 3 BHK flats priced between Rs 3.5 million and Rs 6 million each. Despite the unauthorised status, most of these flats have already been booked by unsuspecting buyers, raising concerns about regulatory oversight and buyer awareness.
Lokesh M, Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Authority, said, “We have instructed our staff to take strict action against these illegal housing projects. The land department and the respective work circle are jointly overseeing enforcement measures. A list of the involved developers is being compiled, and legal action will be taken against them.”
Despite prior notices pasted on the illegal structures, developers removed the warnings and continued construction covertly. In response, the authority has formed a special team to ensure that no further activity occurs and to initiate legal proceedings against the violators.
The enforcement team, drawn from Work Circle 8, includes five managers, one assistant manager, four junior engineers, 20 field staff, and two police personnel. The team is responsible for maintaining daily on-site presence, with managers and officers rotating duties to ensure round-the-clock supervision.
Officials confirmed that a site camp has been established to coordinate operations and monitor encroachment. Daily updates are being submitted to the Senior Manager of Work Circle 8 to maintain accountability and progress reporting.
The affected land lies behind the Salarpur Khadar police post and includes Khasra numbers 723 and 724 (notified land), as well as 727 to 739 and 745 to 753 (acquired land). The authority has pledged strict protection of this land from illegal construction.
This development marks a significant step by the Noida Authority in curbing unauthorised real estate activity, sending a strong message to developers operating outside the legal framework.
