OneAssist, Home Town launch furniture protection plans for Indian consumers

OneAssist, an InsurTech company, has partnered with furniture and home décor retailer Home Town to introduce structured furniture protection plans for Indian households. The initiative aims to address a key gap in the category, where most consumers remain financially vulnerable to accidental damage, defects, or long-term wear and tear after purchase.

The partnership was formally launched at the Home Town outlet in Seasons Mall, Pune, coinciding with the retailer’s 20th anniversary celebrations. The companies said the timing reflects Home Town’s focus on strengthening customer trust and offering value-added services.

Under the collaboration, three opt-in protection plans will be offered at Home Town stores. These include an Accidental and Liquid Damage Plan covering physical and liquid damage across products such as sofas, beds, chairs, tables, storage units, mattresses and décor items. The second is an Extended Warranty Plan designed to cover structural and internal malfunctions, including motors and actuators in recliner and non-recliner furniture. The third is a Furniture Maintenance Plan offering services such as polishing, termite protection and professional cleaning, aimed at preserving furniture condition after the first year of ownership.

“For the Indian consumer, furniture is not just a functional purchase but a significant financial commitment and a reflection of their aspirations. At OneAssist, we believe in protecting what matters most to the consumer. Collaborating with Home Town, one of the most trusted names in Indian furniture retail, allows us to bring this philosophy to a category that has been underserved and bring complete peace of mind to consumers,” said Abhishek Maheshwari, CEO, OneAssist.

Shashwat Nigam, CEO of HomeTown, said customers have consistently expressed the need for long-term assurance beyond delivery. “Our partnership with OneAssist brings that assurance to every Home Town customer, and there is no more fitting way to mark our 20th anniversary than by acting on what our customers have asked us for,” he said.

The launch aligns with OneAssist’s strategy to expand protection offerings beyond personal electronics into high-value lifestyle segments. With furniture replacement and repair costs often significant, the companies said these plans can provide a practical financial safeguard, supported by Home Town’s pan-India retail footprint.
