According to officials, around 300 developers in Maharashtra have chosen to e-register the first sale of properties from their own offices. The two-year-old e-registration effort has gained momentum as more developers volunteer to register the documents from their own offices. Property registration officials stated that "this has helped in reducing foot traffic at the sub registrar's offices for new properties, and we are encouraging more developers to opt for this facility." According to information provided by the registration department, the developer's offices registered close to 9,000 papers during the previous year. According to reports, DIG (IT) Abhishek Deshmukh expects the numbers to increase over the next two months and that an additional 200 developers will likely apply for e-registration.
