Rajkot property owners apply for unauthorised construction law

The Rajkot Municipal Corporation announced that more than 8,000 property owners in Rajkot have submitted applications to legalise their unauthorised constructions under the Gujarat Regularisation of Unauthorised Development Act, 2022. These applicants are complying with the act by paying an impact fee. The official release further stated that out of the total applications, 2,681 are from the central zone, 1,482 from the east zone, and 3,895 from the west zone of the RMC. These applications aim to regularise additional constructions that were carried out without proper authorisation after obtaining building-use (BU) certificates for the respective structures.
