UP CM to make changes in building byelaws

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasised the necessity for revisions in building bylaws to support the hotel industry during discussions with senior officials from the housing department. Highlighting efforts to boost tourism, he credited these initiatives for making Uttar Pradesh a favoured destination for tourists nationwide. Adityanath highlighted the significant potential this creates for the hotel sector, stating, "To foster the hotel industry, we must amend our building bylaws."

Proposing specific changes, he suggested adjustments to the minimum land requirement and access road width for hotels ranging from six to twenty rooms in residential areas. Emphasising adherence to standards for parking, security, and fire safety, he outlined these as essential considerations. Additionally, Adityanath stressed the formation of the 'Shahjahanpur Development Authority' to ensure systematic growth in the district's development. He noted the completion of Master Plan-2031 for Shahjahanpur and directed that the authority's formation should safeguard inhabited village lands from being designated as green zones to prevent inconvenience to residents.

Furthermore, the chief minister urged officials to identify and expedite the utilisation of government buildings across various districts that are currently idle or incomplete. (Source: ET)
