UP RERA Approves 12 Projects Worth Rs. 16.64 bn

The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has approved 12 new real estate projects across six districts, involving an estimated investment of Rs. 16.64 bn. The projects will comprise 3,090 residential and commercial units, according to an official statement.

The approvals were granted at the authority’s 214th meeting in Lucknow on Tuesday, chaired by Sanjay Bhoosreddy. Lucknow accounts for the highest investment and the largest number of units, with four approved projects involving Rs. 6.09 bn and 1,972 units.

The Lucknow portfolio includes two residential projects, one commercial project and one mixed-use project. Ghaziabad has received approval for three residential projects involving Rs. 6.05 bn and 574 units, while Hapur has secured approval for two residential projects worth Rs. 1.23 bn, with 192 units planned.

Ayodhya, Prayagraj and Kanpur have each received approval for one project. The Ayodhya project involves Rs. 726.1 mn and 85 residential units, while the Prayagraj project involves Rs. 516.6 mn and 109 units. The Kanpur project is valued at Rs. 2.02 bn and will comprise 158 units.

UP RERA said the developments would support construction activity and create opportunities in allied sectors, including construction materials, engineering and transport. It said project monitoring would focus on compliance with the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, timely completion and protection of homebuyers’ interests.

The authority also said transparent and systematic development of the real estate sector, supported by timely approvals and monitoring, remained a priority. The latest approvals follow another set of 13 projects cleared earlier in September across Barabanki, Lucknow, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar and Agra, involving Rs. 23.8 bn and 4,724 residential and commercial units.
