Autodesk has signed a definitive agreement to acquire MaintainX, a maintenance and asset operations software company, in a deal valued at $3.6 billion. The acquisition will be funded through cash on hand and debt financing and is expected to close later this fiscal year.

MaintainX is projected to exceed $135 million in annualised recurring revenue in 2026. Its mobile-first platform helps organisations manage assets, coordinate frontline workflows and track real-world operational data across global operations.

Autodesk said the acquisition will support its broader move into connected operations by bringing operational expertise, contextual data and workflows that strengthen its use of artificial intelligence to connect digital and physical environments.

The deal follows the launch of Autodesk Operations Solutions, which brings together Tandem, FlexSim, Fusion Operations and Factory Design Utilities under one strategy. The platform aims to help customers manage and optimise assets across their lifecycle, from design to real-world operations.

Autodesk also raised its fiscal 2027 outlook, projecting revenue of $8.16 billion to $8.22 billion and adjusted earnings per share of $12.40 to $12.65. The company reported first-quarter revenue of $1.93 billion, ahead of analyst expectations."
