Bigbloc Construction enters construction chemicals segment

Bigbloc Construction has commenced trial production at its construction chemicals plant in Umargaon through its subsidiary, Bigbloc Building Elements Private Limited, marking its entry into the construction chemicals segment.
The facility will manufacture products such as block jointing mortar, ready mix plaster, tile adhesives, wall putty, and waterproofing solutions, catering to rising regional demand. The move expands the company’s presence beyond AAC blocks and panels into higher-value building materials.
With an installed AAC capacity of 1.3 million cubic metres per annum across Gujarat and Maharashtra, the company is positioning itself as an integrated building materials solutions provider.
As part of its expansion strategy, Bigbloc has also acquired around 57,500 sq m of land in Indore to develop one of India’s largest AAC block manufacturing facilities.
Narayan Saboo, Chairman, said the diversification aligns with the company’s long-term focus on sustainable and innovative construction solutions, while creating synergies with its existing operations.
The company is among the few AAC manufacturers in India generating carbon credits, underscoring its focus on environmentally efficient production.
The development reflects a broader trend of building materials companies expanding into adjacent segments to capture higher value and strengthen market positioning.
