Larsen & Toubro (L&T), the organization responsible for constructing essential components needed for the Chandrayaan mission, is collaborating closely with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on two other significant missions, namely Aditya-L1 and Gaganyaan. This multinational company, headquartered in Mumbai, played a crucial role in the Chandrayaan project by producing booster segments, head end and middle segments, and a nozzle bucket flange with a diameter of 3.2 meters at its Powai facility. Additionally, L&T manufactured ground and flight umbilical plates, deck panels, and various hardware systems required for the mission.

S N Subrahmanyan, the CEO & MD of L&T, expressed pride in contributing to the successful moon landing and acknowledged the dedication of ISRO scientists. He emphasized the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi and his commitment to promoting self-reliance and innovation through the "Aatma Nirbhar Bharat" initiative.

AT Ramchandani, the Executive Vice President and Head of L&T Defence Space Missions, highlighted the company's extensive experience in space technology and manufacturing launch vehicle hardware. In the Chandrayaan mission, L&T's involvement encompassed the development of solid boosters, integration of the launcher and orbiter module onto the vehicle, construction of tracking radars, establishment of a deep space network, and creation of antenna mechanisms. Their contributions extended to flight hardware and ground support equipment.

L&T is actively engaged with ISRO on the Aditya-L1 and Gaganyaan missions. The company's role includes participating in PSLV launch missions, producing heat shields, rocket hardware, and other components at its manufacturing facility in Coimbatore.

Notably, L&T's involvement in the upcoming Aditya-L1 and Gaganyaan missions encompasses the production of flight-rated hardware and collaboration in developing a crew module and crew escape systems for the human-centric Gaganyaan mission.
