Onward Technologies, a Mumbai-headquartered digital engineering services provider, has announced a major expansion of its global delivery network with the launch of its largest offshore design centre in Chennai. The facility will support global clients in the industrial equipment, heavy machinery, transportation, and mobility sectors with specialised digital and engineering research & development (ER&D) services.

Managing Director Jigar Mehta said the move responds to rising demand for offshore services from clients in the USA and Europe. “We currently have over 1,000 employees each in Chennai and Pune. With this investment, we aim to expand Chennai’s workforce to 2,000. The centre will act as an extended digital and ER&D team for our clients, equipped with advanced training centres, software labs, and modern employee amenities,” he noted.

By operating as an extension of clients’ digital and ER&D teams, Onward Tech can respond quickly to evolving requirements. The Chennai facility is now the company’s largest, complementing existing offshore delivery centres and labs in Pune, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. This network gives clients offshore capacity and access to expert talent across digital, embedded, and mechanical engineering domains.
