Zen Technologies Wins Rs 2.89 bn MoD Order for Anti-Drone Upgrades

Hyderabad, November 2, 2025 — Zen Technologies has secured two major contracts worth Rs 2,89 billion (including GST) from the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Government of India, for the upgradation of its indigenous Anti-Drone Systems (ADS). The projects are scheduled for completion within a year and highlight the strategic necessity of prioritising Indian-designed and developed defence systems.
The upgrades stem from operational feedback received during Op Sindoor and other frontline missions, where evolving drone threats emphasised the need for rapid adaptation in both hardware and software. Zen’s ADS—fully designed, developed and manufactured in India—enabled immediate validation of new MoD requirements and fast system enhancement, an agility foreign-sourced solutions cannot match.
Global cyber incidents such as the Pager and Stuxnet malware attacks underline the importance of indigenous control over hardware, software, and embedded code in India’s defence infrastructure. Foreign Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) systems often restrict component-level upgrades and expose users to export controls and vendor dependency.
By contrast, India’s Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured (IDDM) systems empower the armed forces to implement upgrades swiftly, improving resilience against emerging threats, including AI-driven drone swarms and stealth technologies.
