Berger Paints Construction Chemicals Business Crosses Rs 15 Billion

Berger Paints India has crossed the Rs 15 billion milestone in its construction chemicals business, including waterproofing, in FY26, strengthening its position beyond its traditional paints portfolio.

Built over the past seven to eight years, the business has expanded across waterproofing, repair, tiling and allied construction applications. It has recorded a CAGR of over 25% in the last three years, significantly ahead of the broader waterproofing market, which is estimated to grow at around 8–10%.

The growth has been supported by rising demand for specialised construction chemicals across new construction, renovation and repair activities. Increasing infrastructure development and greater adoption of advanced solutions are also driving expansion in the Indian construction chemicals sector.

Abhijit Roy, MD and CEO, Berger Paints India, said the company views construction chemicals as a natural extension of its role in building and protecting spaces. He added that Berger will continue focusing on product innovation, wider market reach and solutions catering to construction professionals and consumers.

Berger’s construction chemicals portfolio is led by Home Shield, which includes its waterproofing solutions. The company has introduced products such as Home Shield Waterproof Putty, combining surface finishing with waterproofing benefits, and Roof Cool and Seal, which offers roof waterproofing along with cooling properties.

The company has also expanded into tiling solutions, including tile adhesives, tile grouts and other adhesive products, strengthening its presence across the construction chemicals value chain.

With a pan-India presence and strong traction in markets such as West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, Berger aims to further expand its footprint through continued product development and deeper market penetration.
