Berger Paints India has launched its Home Cooling Paints Range along with a nationwide campaign titled ‘Garmi Gone, Thandak On’, as rising temperatures continue to pose growing challenges for households across India.
The company said the campaign promotes smarter and energy-efficient cooling solutions by focusing on preventing heat from entering homes rather than relying solely on air conditioning. Berger Paints stated that a significant amount of heat enters homes through walls, rooftops and structural openings, making surface protection an important factor in reducing indoor discomfort during peak summer months.
The Home Cooling range includes products such as Berger Anti Dustt Kool and Berger Roof Kool & Seal, designed to reduce heat absorption across walls and roofs. The range also features Berger Tank Kool, targeting black synthetic water tanks that often overheat in extreme heat conditions. Together, the products are positioned as a holistic solution aimed at lowering indoor temperatures at the source.
According to the company, the solutions can help reduce surface and ambient temperatures by up to 10°C, offering a more sustainable alternative to energy-intensive cooling methods. Berger Paints said the range is especially relevant for heat-prone regions and cost-conscious households seeking practical options to cope with increasingly harsh summers.
As part of the initiative, Berger Paints has partnered with Smile Foundation to extend its cooling solutions to underserved communities. Under this programme, the company will undertake a school beautification drive across 30 government schools in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Heat-reflective coatings will be applied to school buildings to help lower indoor temperatures and create more comfortable learning environments.
“At Berger Paints, we have always believed in staying ahead of consumer needs,” said Abhijit Roy, MD & CEO, Berger Paints India. He added that the company aims to drive a behavioural shift towards sustainable and accessible cooling practices through the campaign while supporting communities through its partnership with Smile Foundation.
