Advik Acquires German Braking Systems Maker Powersports MTG
According to Advik, this acquisition positions the company among the advanced brake system suppliers and aligns with its growth trajectory. It will also help Advik establish a strong presence in Europe, allowing it to expand its services and support its customers locally.
The company also mentioned that the acquisition will expand its product range and customer base while advancing the development of next-generation braking solutions.
Aditya Bhartia, Managing Director of Advik Group, stated that the acquisition of Powersports MTG, including its two-wheeler braking system brand MAGURA, will not only bring advanced hydraulic braking and clutch technology to a broader market but will also add manufacturing and research and development capabilities in Germany. He emphasised that with over 60 patents, this acquisition is strategically important for Advik to access cutting-edge hydraulic braking and clutch technology.
Powersports MTG GmbH was established as a spin-off of the Bad Urach (Germany)-based powersports business from Gustav Magenwirth GmbH & Co KG, known as MAGURA, and specialises in the development, production, and marketing of brake and clutch systems for two-wheelers.
Bhartia further noted that Powersports' customer base includes leading two-wheeler original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in Europe and the USA for braking and clutch systems. He added that the acquisition would help Advik establish its footprint in Europe, facilitating the expansion of its two-wheeler braking system portfolio globally. This acquisition represents a step forward in Advik's vision of becoming a leading braking system supplier for two-wheelers.
The deal was executed through Advik’s Singapore subsidiary, ADVIK Singapore Pte Ltd. Advik also shared that Powersports closed 2024 with strong revenue nearing 30 million euros.
