Air Marshal Umesh Reviews Operations at Tughlakabad Depot

Air Marshal Yalla Umesh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Maintenance Command, visited the Base Repair Depot at Tughlakabad on 4 December 2025. He was accompanied by Mrs Sreevalli, President of the Air Force Families Welfare Association (Regional). They were welcomed by Air Commodore DN Sahu, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Tughlakabad, along with Mrs Preeti Sahu, President AFFWA (Local).
Upon arrival, the Air Marshal was accorded a Guard of Honour. He then received a detailed briefing on the Depot’s operations, ongoing initiatives, recent achievements and key innovations. During his tour of various functional sections, he reviewed several projects and commended the Depot for its sustained work in indigenisation and the development of innovative solutions tailored to operational needs.
While interacting with Station personnel, the Air Marshal underscored the need to minimise import reliance and advance steadily towards Atmanirbharta through the strengthening of domestic technical capabilities. He praised the commitment, professionalism and contribution of all personnel in delivering dependable technical and operational support to field units.
He further stressed the importance of continuous skill enhancement, maintaining technical proficiency in all roles, and pursuing excellence with dedication. The Air Marshal also urged all air warriors to remain physically fit, mentally prepared and vigilant in addressing emerging security challenges to ensure sustained operational readiness.
