Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah recently inaugurated the two-day Anti-Terrorism Conference 2025 in New Delhi, organised by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. The conference brought together senior police officers from states and Union Territories, central agencies and experts from law, forensics and technology.

Addressing the gathering, Shah said the conference has evolved into an annual platform under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s zero-tolerance approach to terrorism, aimed at addressing emerging and technology-driven threats. He emphasised the need for agencies to analyse every terrorist incident in India and globally to strengthen counter-terrorism preparedness and stay ahead of evolving methods.

During the event, Shah unveiled the updated crime manual prepared by the NIA and launched the Organised Crime Network Database and the Lost, Looted and Recovered Weapon Database. He said these initiatives would enhance investigation, prosecution and coordination across agencies, while enabling a comprehensive approach against organised crime and terror networks.

Highlighting recent counter-terror operations, Shah said India has, for the first time, punished both planners and executors of a terrorist incident through coordinated operations, underscoring the effectiveness of precise intelligence and inter-agency cooperation. He called for operational uniformity, wider use of national databases and a common Anti-Terrorism Squad structure across states.

Shah urged all central agencies and state police forces to function as ‘Team India’, stressing that only coordinated intelligence sharing, uniform investigation standards and decisive action can help build a robust and impenetrable anti-terrorism grid for future generations.
