Amit Shah Launches NSG’s National IED Data System
Addressing the gathering, Shri Shah said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, significant progress has been made over the past six years in generating and systematically organising security-related data. He described NIDMS as a next-generation security shield against terrorism, which will play a critical role in investigating terrorist incidents, analysing explosion trends and formulating effective counter strategies.
The Home Minister said the platform will provide a comprehensive, integrated and online database accessible to investigation agencies, Anti-Terrorism Squads, state police forces and central armed forces. NIDMS will enable detailed analysis of bomb explosion patterns, modus operandi and explosives used, while also helping establish linkages between incidents across the country.
He added that the system will act as a single-click access window for data currently scattered across case files, significantly improving coordination, speed and quality of investigations and prosecutions. With the integration of artificial intelligence and linkage to other national databases, NIDMS will contribute to building a strong and connected security grid under the ‘One Nation, One Data Repository’ approach.
Shri Shah also praised the NSG as a world-class, zero-error force that has consistently delivered outstanding results in counter-terrorism, anti-hijacking and bomb disposal operations, reaffirming its vital role in safeguarding the nation’s internal security.
