Union Home Minister Amit Shah led a high-level security review meeting in Srinagar today, focused on the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting was attended by key officials including J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Union Home Secretary, Army Chief, Director of Intelligence Bureau, senior Army and police officers, and heads of Central Armed Police Forces.

Shah praised the efforts of security agencies, highlighting a significant drop in terror-related incidents, cross-border infiltration, and recruitment by terror outfits. He credited the coordinated approach of the Modi government for weakening the terror ecosystem in the region.

Reiterating the Centre’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism, Shah directed all agencies to intensify efforts under the Area Domination Plan and Zero Terror Plan. He emphasized that these should be implemented in "mission mode" to sustain peace and secure the gains made since the abrogation of Article 370.

The Home Minister also reviewed preparations for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, scheduled from July 3 to August 9, and instructed authorities to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the pilgrimage.
