Amit Shah To Dedicate IFFCO Sulphuric Acid Plant In Odisha

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will dedicate to the nation the Sulphuric Acid Plant installed by IFFCO at its Paradip facility on 6 March 2026 and will inaugurate a set of development projects related to the cooperative sector and dairy. The visit is presented as part of efforts inspired by the Prime Minister's vision of Sahkar se Samriddhi and aims to consolidate cooperative growth in Odisha. Events will take place in Paradip and at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar.

In Bhubaneswar the minister will oversee the release of the State Cooperative Policy and will witness the signing of a memorandum of understanding for a school under Tribhuvan Cooperative University as well as an MoU for the revival of Badamba Sugar Industries. The programme will include dedication of 1,567 Common Service Centres operated by PACS and LAMPS and a virtual inauguration of need based infrastructure for 141 PACS. Capacity building and institutional measures are scheduled to strengthen cooperative governance.

Several digital and market facing platforms will be launched to enhance cooperative outreach and exports. These include the RCS Office Portal, the digital launch of the Direct to Consumer portal of National Cooperative Organics Limited and Coop Marque developed by National Cooperative Exports Limited. The programme will also introduce Savidya an AI enabled multilingual digital learning platform.

Initiatives to boost the dairy sector associated with OMFED will be presented and registration certificates will be distributed to two milk producer cooperative societies. Grants under the Chief Minister Kamdhenu Yojana will be released and an MoU will be signed with the National Dairy Development Board for the upgradation of a training and demonstration centre. These steps are intended to improve producer incomes and technical capacity.

A video presentation will outline projects across departments and a total of 69 projects will be inaugurated while foundation stones for 130 projects will be laid. The projects to be inaugurated are valued at Rs 11,590.3 million (mn) and the foundation stone projects are valued at Rs 21,160.6 mn.
